Barbacoa De Lengua

2 - 3 lbs. of 1 tongue
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cumin powder
1/2 tsp. knorr tomate
1/2 tsp. knorr pollo

Rinse the beef tongue with water, cut in 4 pieces and place in your pot, salt and enough water to cover over the meat.  Cover and set the pot on high, check every 30 minutes to see if it needs water just add a cup at a time, Cook until tender. Once the meat is tender you can shred it with 2 forks, I save my self time and place it in a deep plastic bowl and use my hand mixer to shred it, any pieces that did not shred I cut it up with a knife. Once you have shredded the meat use the same broth place meat back into the pot add your spices and a little bit of broth about 1/2 a cup depends on you on how moist you want the meat, mix all the spices very well in with the meat and broth let it cook for about 10 minuets and serve. The way we serve it in my home is buffet style with the warm corn or flour tortillas, pico de gallo, salsa, some lime wedges, avocados, and salt. Everyone prepares their own tacos.
