Soft Fluffy Homemade Dinner Roll








A little tip so you can have fresh rolls anytime.

When the first rise (poof) of the dough is done follow the steps as instructed below but instead of greasing up a cookie sheet for a second rise instead shape your dough balls place on a cookie sheet a finger apart and freeze for an hour. Once the dough balls are frozen grab a freezer Ziploc bag add toss all the frozen dough balls in the bag and freeze. When you're ready to bake the rolls just pull out the frozen dough balls and place on a greased cookie sheet a finger apart cover with a loose plastic wrap (spray with non-stick spray) and then cover with a towel, place in a warm area of the kitchen to let them rise (double in size) since they are frozen the rise will take longer. Enjoy fresh rolls anytime. These will last good in the freezer up to two months if you wrap them yourself or up to 6 months if you use a sealer machine.

3 ¼ cup of flour

½ tsp. Salt

2 tsp. yeast

1 Egg

1 cup of Warm water

¼ cup of Sugar

¼ cup of Oil


When dealing with yeast breads, it is important that your water be warm but not hot. A good rule of thumb is to think “baby bath water”, that is the temperature you are going for. If you’ve ever given a baby a bath, you know exactly what I’m talking about :). If you haven’t given a baby a bath before, go for good and warm but not hot, just a little above lukewarm. Let your yeast sit for five minutes and make sure there are some little bubbles on top, that means your yeast is alive and active.

I made mine in the bread machine, there is a certain way you place the ingredients in the machine so the first thing you pour in the machine is eggs, mix with fork, sugar, salt, mix with fork, water, oil, flour, and the yeast. Set your machine on dough let the machine do it's job...


After it's ready from the machine pull out and knead about 10 times then shape your dough balls and place on a greased cookie sheet a finger apart spray with nonstick spray cover loosely place in a warm place let it rise until double in size about an hour to an hour and a half then brush lightly with milk very little bake until golden brown.

To your Mixer add your yeast, warm water  salt, and sugar mix well wait 5 minutes, you should see foaming after 5 minutes, then add 1 cup of flour mix well then add another cup of flour mix and add oil, and the egg mix well as it is mixing add the last cup of flour let it mix for 2 minutes if mixture is still sticky then add the remainder of the flour a little at a time mix about 30 seconds pull the dough off of the hook put all of the dough on your counter, knead the dough 10 times, spray a bowl with a non-stick spray place dough in that bowl and spray dough lightly with the non-stick spray, cover the bowl with cling wrap and a cloth let it rise for about an hour to an hour and a half until it doubles in size, what I do is warm up a cup of water for 3 minutes in the microwave and leave it in the microwave and set the dough to rise in there, the warmth of the cup of water helps it rise. Once the dough rises place the dough on your counter and knead it 8 times then with your hands  pull about 12 equal parts, shape each piece into a ball and place in a baking dish/ cookie sheet that has been sprayed with a non-stick spray make sure the dough balls are touching each other now let the dough rise again for about 20 to 30 minutes if they are not rising fast enough again warm up a cup of water and leave it in the microwave like before. Once the dough balls have raised (doubled in size) brush with a little but on top then bake in a preheated oven at 350* for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. As soon as they come out butter the top of the rolls with a little melted butter try not to burn yourself trying to eat them right out of the oven...
